Tonight Tom and I dined Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant in South Bound Brook. It was absolutely delicious and the restaurant is beautiful!
For the last few years we have watched, tasted, and experienced the flavors Giovanni LaCorte, a 20 year old chef; has been dishing out in his family’s restaurant. As I opened the menu and began to read, I recognized the dishes. These were the specials at Gio’s Table at Joe’s Meat Market his family’s restaurant. Tom and I have enjoyed many savory appetizers and entrees this amazing young chef has been preparing. Don’t get me started on the desserts! I need a flight aka a sampling of the sweet decadent desserts Chef Giovanni has been whipping up.
Tonight it was an honor and a pleasure to be invited to the soft opening of his own restaurant. The crispy and gooey Mozzarella en Coroza w fresh marinara sauce (my favorite) did not disappoint. Elegant simple salad w vinaigrette was refreshing and crisp. Entrees were amazing!!! (Wear eating pants there are no small portions here!) Chicken Franchise w Rosemary Potatoes and fresh vegetables was so flavorful and filling. Chicken Capricciosa was delicious!!! Extra Large breaded chicken cutlet w fresh arugula, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, w lemon and EVOO was delicious! Flipping it for my lunch tomorrow as an arugula salad w chicken cutlet w vinaigrette.
Now….. I know I didn’t eat all my dinner. Yet, what’s a great meal without coffee and dessert? While Tom could not eat another thing – I enjoyed a delicious cappuccino and decadent carrot cake. There a small piece leftover which I’ll have for breakfast w my morning tea tomorrow.
This is a MUST ENJOY dining experience. Make a reservation. Grab a bottle of wine. Enjoy a delicious meal made by the talented Chef Giovanni! Tell Giovanni I sent you.
Wishing Chef Giovanni the best in his own novel as a Chef, business owner, and boss of Giovanni’s!!! Many blessings and success! We will be back real soon!!!!
